Happy 4 Months, Brett!

Brett celebrated his 4 month birthday last Sunday (I know, I often do posts out of order, but I thought it necessary to post the Easter post asap). He asked to be twins with his dad for his birthday so that's exactly what he got.

He weighs 16 lbs 2 oz and is 26 inches long. Dr. K said he is perfectly proportionate : ) But definitely a big boy! The whole appointment was very uneventful, which is how I like it. Brett didn't even realize he was getting a shot until the second needle, but he only wimpered a little, no crying hysterically like last time. But just like last time he was fast asleep before I could even get him in the car. The doctor wears this little guy out! He still has acid reflux so he continues to take Prevacid and Alimentum formula. Hopefully, at 6 months we'll be finished with the billion dollar cans. Brett has a firm grip now and my hair has paid the price, I think it may be time for the "mommy" cut. He started rolling over several weeks ago, but not consistently and then completely stopped so Dr. K thinks it will be anytime now. He's constantly pushing himself to the standing position when we're holding him so I think it's time to get this kid a jumper.

It's hard to believe the next time we see Dr. K we'll be moving back to Oklahoma 2 days later.

It was an Eggsellent Easter

We hope everyone had a wonderful Easter. Brett celebrated his first Easter by losing one of his shoes on the way to church, spitting up all over his cute sweater vest (thank you acid reflux) and then by refusing to take an afternoon nap....but besides all that, I think he really enjoyed it!

Southern Boy

He may have been born in the Midwest, but Brett is definitely a southern boy (and yes, I know some people consider Oklahoma in the Midwest, but after living in the true Midwest for 4 years it's definitely a southern state). We try to have dance parties a couple mornings a week, he absolutely LOVES the music, and this week's theme was Red Dirt Country. Boy did he have fun! I didn't get any pictures because I was too busy laughing, but I've never seen him so into the music. He was grinning from ear to ear and laughing too. Randy Rogers I guess we'll be listening to you more often. We might have a little cowboy on our hands after all. Guess I better go get the wranglers and boots now : )

Disbelief

A few weeks ago, as I was brushing my hair, I couldn't believe my eyes, what I thought was a random blonde hair on my head was a silvery white hair! I quickly pulled it out thinking I had solved the problem of the one silvery white hair. Boy was I wrong! Turns out when you find one there's usually not just one, but millions (well maybe that's a bit dramatic, but definitely more than one).

If this is what one kid does to you, I'm a little scared to have more!

Waterboy

First he looked like a little fish (remember the Fish Face post) and now he's acting like a little fish.

This boy loves the water.
I am so excited to take him swimming this summer.

Hmmm, looking at this picture I realized maybe he's outgrown the sink, just maybe.

I think it's LOVE

Scott always gives Brett his last bottle of the day and then puts him to bed. Lately, after he's finished with his bottle, Brett just stares at Scott before falling asleep...it's the same picture every night.

And instead of capturing the same picture twenty nights in a row, I have refrained and only captured two nights. Now that's will power if I do say so myself...I mean just look at them.

Back to the Sooner State Countdown

I can't decide if it's too early to start the Oklahoma countdown especially since I told my husband last night that I know we are excited to move back but please don't wish away the days we have here.

Then I saw this on a friend's facebook post:

Good Old OKLAHOMA - Where the Tea is Sweet & Accents are Sweeter, Summer Starts in April, Front Porches are Wide & Words are Long, Macaroni & Cheese is a Vegetable, Y'all is a Proper Pronoun, Chicken is Fried, & Biscuits Come with Gravy, and Okra is a main staple for supper in the summer time. Everything is Honey & Someone is Always Getting Their Heart Blessed. I am PROUD TO BE FROM OKLAHOMA!!!

Then I smiled and decided it's not too early at all. Here's to 2 months and 2 weeks until we are back in the Sooner State dying of heat exhaustion and blistered from excessive sun exposure!
