Why Me?!?!

As I was just breezing through this pregnancy, BAM it happened...the dreaded heartburn! I've literally had constant heartburn for 2 days now. I even woke up with it this morning, I mean how can you wake up with heartburn? I haven't even eaten anything yet.

I guess at 25 weeks I was bound to have some sort of pregnancy symptom, so I'm off to the drug store to buy what I'm hoping will be my miracle cure:
Here's hoping the next 15 weeks (wow, that seems really soon!) don't cause any other unwanted pregnancy symptoms.

Niagara Falls

Our quick trip to Niagara Falls was great! We stayed on the Canadian side as that is where the actual town and touristy attractions are. We were so excited to get out and see the falls that as soon as we checked in we threw our bags down in the room and off we went to the Maid of the Mist. The boat takes you past the American Falls and right into the Horseshoe Falls. When you are directly next to the falls it seems like it's pouring outside (this is not a place to go if you can't stand a little wave in your hair...there is no such thing as straight hair at Niagara Falls).
The Falls were lit up at night and thanks to the new camera my hubby bought me for my birthday we were able to capture some awesome pictures.

Before we came home, we made our way over to Niagara-on-the-Lake. A quaint town with miles and miles of wineries, lots of history, cute shops and delicious food. For lunch, we had the most amazing pizza I've ever had. It was potato and bacon with caramelized onions and sherry cream sauce. I'm salivating thinking about it right now. Scott wasn't so sure at first, but he ended up loving it just as much as I did, we were just sorry we didn't order one to go.

The flowers and plants were amazing in Canada. Here's one of the many pictures I took of just the vegetation. *Sidenote: I used to always think it was funny when my grandparents came home from one of their many trips and the majority of their pictures were of flowers and trees; now I understand! It's just so beautiful you want to try to capture as much of it as you can so you never forget.

Well there's some of our pictures from our big Canadian Adventure. I'm so glad we were able to get away for a couple of days to experience such a beautiful place. Definitely a plus to living in Cleveland; otherwise, I don't think we would have ever gone.

24 week belly

In baby news, here's what 24 weeks looks like: I'm definitely starting to "feel" pregnant; however, not all the time so I can't really complain. The little guy is starting to move a lot now, Scott even felt him the other night. He's so active, if this is a foreshadow of how he will be when he arrives, I think we're really in for it! I'm hungry ALL THE TIME and I feel like I'm never full. I really think I'm going to eat us out of the house.

Went to the doctor on Tuesday and everything is going great. His heartbeat was 158.

In non-baby news: I have found several projects to occupy all of my time. First, I'm learning to knit. My first project is a scarf. Knitting is definitely harder than I imagined, but I think I'm finally getting the hang of it. For the knitters out there, I can rock the knit stitch, it's the purling that's killing me! Secondly, I'm now the Cubbies Director at our church for the AWANA program. I get to teach preschoolers all about God and His great love for us.

As for Scott, he's still working away. He starts his Rheumatology rotation next week and then Endocrinology after that.

And finally, we're off to Canada for the weekend for a quick trip to see Niagara Falls.

New Jeans

Just bought these awesome new skinny jeans today:

I loved them so much after I paid for them I went back to the dressing room and put them on. I think that's allowed, right? Way better than walking around with my pants unbuttoned and halfway unzipped!

Birthday Boy

Here are a few pics from Scott's 28th Birthday. He only got 25 candles, because well that's all that came in the package and I was too cheap to buy 2 packages, sorry babe.

Scott requested his favorite dinner: chicken fried chicken w/ mashed potatoes & gravy and then of course I added a vegetable. Even though it was his birthday we still had to have something green on the plate. For dessert we had his favorite: fun-fetti cake with chocolate chip ice cream.

Can't you tell he's thrilled about the socks, haha! His exact response, "Well, I'm not a dad yet, but I'm getting dad presents." Truth is, he splurged for my birthday and bought me a Nikon camera and photoshop. He told me that was his present too since we've both been wanting it for some time now.

But who are we kidding, here's to many more years of socks and other "dad" presents! Hope you had a fabulous birthday, love you!
