Ride 'em, Cowboy!
Brett's Aunt Linny had a special surprise for him when we were visiting last week...his very own rocking horse that she made for him in her woodshop class. He's a little too small right now, but one of these days he's going to be rocking away. Now we just need the hat and boots so he can get the real cowboy experience.

Congratulations Aunt Linny!
I was so happy we were able to be at my youngest sister's high school graduation. We've missed a lot of her events being so far away so it was important for me to be able to be at her final high school event. I can't wait for all the fun to come...even if it's at the "other" university. Just don't expect me to wear orange!

Little Traveler
Last weekend we flew to Oklahoma to watch my little sister graduate (I guess not so little though, since she is the tallest in the family). I was a little nervous/anxious about the flight as I know flying with children is so unpredictable, but Brett surprised us all. He did great! He fell asleep in the airport before we boarded the plane so I thought wow this is going to be great; however, the moment we started taxing out to the runway he woke up and was wide awake. He was so curious about everything: the new sights and sounds. After about 20 minutes of taking it all in, he was out again and stayed that way while we changed planes in Chicago and all the way to Oklahoma. Now when we got to my parents house at 1 am, that was a whole other story. Brett thought it was time to wake-up and play with everyone.
Now even though the flight was smooth not everything went that way. When we arrived in OKC, we arrived to no luggage. And what was worse than that was the attendant could not even track it, which meant it was probably left in Cleveland. Needless to say we were all happy for the clean clothes when it finally arrived later the next day.

The way back to Cleveland was even better. I think Brett was so exhausted from the weekend he couldn't do anything but sleep. He laid on Scott's lap the entire way and didn't even wake up when we arrived in Cleveland. He stayed asleep in the shuttle to our car and in the car on the way home. He woke up just long enough to eat and fall back to sleep for a 4 hour nap. Poor little guy was exhausted! He better get used to all the people because he's going to be bombarded in 3 weeks!

Just Me and My Dog
Brett has finally started to acknowledge Bailey. He always looks around for her and whenever she gets close enough he loves to pet her (or grab her fur, but really it's the same thing). Bailey, on the otherhand, doesn't quite share the love. She likes licking him and that's about it. But she tolerates him so I guess that's good enough for now.

My Very First Mother's Day
My very first Mother's Day weekend began with a typical motherly emotion...worry. Brett decided on Friday night he didn't want his bottle and then only ate 12 oz on Saturday. He was acting happy as can be, sleeping well and was never running a temperature, so I assumed teething. I was so worried about him though that I had Scott set up the Pack-N-Play next to our bed so he could be in there with us all night.
On Sunday morning, I woke up to a cuddly baby and the most wonderful cards. Since Brett was feeling better we decided to head over to Crocker Park for breakfast, I was in the mood for Eggs Benedict. Of course though when we got there the wait was 1hr 30 mins...ummm yeah right, I didn't need Eggs Benedict that badly. So we took a few pics and then went to another restaurant, in which I thought it was necessary to have 10,000 calories in 30 mintues. I started with a caramel mocha, then our sweet waitress decided she didn't make it with enough chocolate so she brought me another one. Then I had to order the Blueberry Cream pancakes with syrup and a side of bacon. All followed up with a slice of coconut cream pie to go. I may have taken the celebration overboard!

Because I insisted on having dessert for breakfast I thought a nice walk in the metropark would surely counteract all that I had just eaten.

Overall, it was a wonderful day spent with my favorite people. The beautiful sunshine was just an added bonus.
