Healthy & Happy

Brett had his 2 month well visit yesterday. Here are his latest measurements:

• 24.75 inches long (97%)
• 12lbs 4oz (71%)
• 16.34 inch head circumference (88%)

He received 3 shots and screamed his full head off; however, after she was done he fell right to sleep. I think shots make Brett sleepy because he slept 9 1/2 hours last night without making one peep! Now if only this mommy can sleep and get over the insomnia. Anyway, the doctor was so surprised with how well he was holding his head.

This past month we moved Brett to his crib, and yes I cried! Funny how the littlest things bring a tear to my eye now. He has started smiling and cooing, and loves looking at us. He's now batting at the toys on his playmate and thinks it's so funny when he hits them. He is such a big boy, he can already sit up in his Bumbo chair! He also loves taking baths, listening to music, watching his Praise Baby DVD, going for car rides and walks in his stroller and being rocked.

Happy 2 months little boy! We love watching you grow.

Love Bug

Brett spent his first Valentine's Day sporting a "Hugs & Kisses" onesie from his Aunt Ali and was full of extra love for everyone. Now Scott and I have never been huge celebrators on this day, and maybe it's because our anniversary is 2 days later, but this year we actually recognized the day. I think a baby makes you celebrate every holiday...Brett even dressed up yesterday as Abraham Lincoln for President's Day. Okay, maybe not, but you get the point.

Brett got his Daddy this picture with the following words on the back:

New Toy

Several weeks ago we noticed that Brett was really starting to look around a lot more and became very interested in his surroundings, so we decided to buy him a new toy so he could "play".

And here in Brett's own words, you can see that he really likes it:

"Hmm, so mom what am I supposed to do with this thing?"

"Bailey, I think we're supposed to kick these toys. Maybe you should come lay on the mat with me too."

"Look at the birds spin round and round...cool!"

"I'm such a sweet baby, they can't resist taking pictures of me."

"Man, this is awesome! I love my new toy!"

Like I said, in his own words...it's a hit!

My Red-Headed Step Child

Or my neglected furry friend.

Just as she thought, Brett came along and she got moved to the back burner. We got home from church on Sunday and couldn't find Bailey anywhere, usually she meets us at the front door. We were calling her name, but she wouldn't come, finally we heard her nails scratching and found her in the bathtub. Hmmm...I think she might be telling us something.

Sorry sweet girl, I promise as soon as I get a free hour you'll get a bath...or maybe I'll get a nap.
