This Blog Just Got 100X More Interesting

I know, I know our lives aren't too exciting or blog worthy, but maybe we'll have some better posts now that WE'RE HAVING A BABY! Our due date right now is December 23rd, so it looks like we'll be getting an early Christmas present.

I made a vow to take pictures of myself every 4 weeks starting at week 12, so here I am at week 12:

Not really anything to see yet, but that will all soon change. Excuse the mess in the background we were in the midst of moving.

So far so good, I'm 14 weeks today and starting my second trimester. I wasn't spared of the morning sickness though, I still don't know why it's named that, I went through all day nausea weeks 6-9 and absolutely could not stand the sight, smell, thought of chicken and lettuce. Ironic that it happened right after I went to the store and bought 2 bags of chicken breasts and a tub of lettuce! Thank goodness that didn't last too long. I'm feeling great now and have starting exercising again. I think my muscles are beginning to make room for the growing baby because I can feel them stretching, only the start of the things my body will be going through...I can't wait, it all sounds like so much fun.

Stay tuned to see my ever-growing belly.

It's Been Real Chicago

Well tonight is our last night in our 22nd floor condo staring at the beautiful city of Chicago, tomorrow we'll be in our new home...Cleveland (...it's not Detroit...).

So I leave you with this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tlou_2lMLAc *

And I pray that I don't begin singing this song in a few days: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpCR6p0vNcQ&feature=PlayList&p=A1704542BD13B206&playnext_from=PL&playnext=1&index=3 *

*Disclaimer: I don't know how to upload a video yet and don't have time to learn, it's only a matter of time before we are without internet, so you get a link.

1,353 Feet in the Air

We went to see the Sears Tower Skydeck Ledge (now renamed Willis Tower, even though everyone will continue to call it Sears Tower). Anyway, we've been up to look around several times, however, neither Scott nor I had been on "The Ledge". For those who have never been, the Skydeck is on the 103rd story of the Sears Tower. It's all enclosed with windows on all sides so that you can see the city. On a clear day you are supposed to be able to see Wisconsin, Indiana, and Michigan. The Ledge is a new feature that they've added; there are 3 enclosed glass boxes that extend 4 feet from the building so that you can see everything below you.

Here's a picture of our building from the top. Our building is the 2nd of the two white buildings that look identical. Here I am on the Ledge! I have to admit at first I was nervous to step out on to it. I know that you couldn't fall, but there's something about it that makes your heart race. I was able to step out there only after I touched the sides to make sure that I was for sure enclosed.

Scott had no problem stepping out on the Ledge. He just bounced right out there like it wasn't any big deal.

Such a fun memory for us of Chicago! Only 3 more days in the Windy City!

I'm Married to a Doctor

The day finally came. Who would have ever thought I would be writing this post, but here I am doing just that. Scott is finished with medical school and will soon begin his residency. Thank you everyone for your prayers, love and support; we couldn't have made it without you! Here are a few pictures from the Awards Ceremony and Graduation.

Awards Ceremony

Scott posing with one of his awards. He was thrilled that his mom and I kept making him take pictures, but he was a good sport about it.

Introducing Dr. Scott Kochenower

To my husband, I am so proud of you! Your hard work and dedication amaze me. Your love for your work is contagious and while you inspire me to find my calling you continue to challenge your peers by setting such a high standard. Thank you for continuing to put us first and including me throughout this entire process. I will forever remember our years in Chicago; our first year in the student dorms eating dinner off of T.V. trays, living on student loans and life in a 600 sq ft condo in the big city, but most importantly growing together as a couple and sharing many memories together. I look forward to our next journey!

Another Knecht Family Adventure

Ever since I remember, my Papa started an amazing tradition of taking the entire family on a summer vacation. Imagine taking 7 kids under the age of 7 on a 12+ hour car ride, well it was done! We've been to some amazing places and have some great stories, but to us it isn't about where we go, but about spending the week together as a family. Even though Papa isn't with us anymore, we still have continued the wonderful tradition he started many years ago.

Here are some pictures of our latest adventure in Destin, FL:

The entire Knecht Family, yes this is a timed picture!
